Erica is currently the only team member who lectures.
Lectures are provided for staff working in neurology or with patients with neurological problems:
HCAs
Nurses
Therapy assistants and TIs
Qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists
All lectures are 'tailor made' to the needs of the staff group for whom it is organised. This means that the timing, duration and content will be relevant to the needs of the students. The need for the students to travel and incur accommodation expenses is negated if the lecture can be organised in the vicinity of the workplace.
TROUBLE SHOOTING Erica also offers 'trouble shooting' sessions. This involves Erica visiting the staff where they are working and working with them, with their patients, in the clinical setting. This has proved to be a very effective method of learning. The patient is known to the student(s) and all assessment findings and treatment techniques are immediately applicable in the workplace. These sessions are growing in popularity as they facilitate learning in a less formal environment while allowing very specific progression of clinical skills.
